Q: Will I be able to preview the text?
A: Of course! We are very happy to let the translator see the whole text before he starts working on it, so that he can evaluate the whole situation thoroughly. If the proposed text does not suit you, or if you are worried that you would not be able to finish the task within the given deadline, or that the quality would be below your standards, then we would really appreciate if you would just tell us, that you do not feel up to this task and decline it. Please let us know why the task does not suit you.
If you have received a text just for a preview, please do not start translating it until we have definitely confirmed the task. We usually include this notice at the end of every e-mail. Do not forget to read the whole e-mail, even the fine print. :)
Q: Should I charge for the number of words in the source text or in the target text?
A: Regarding standard translations, we usually charge for the number of words in the source text. We do this for both our clients and the translators.
Q: What if I confirmed the task, started to translate the text and found out that it is not within my power to finish it as required?
A: We hope that you will devote more time to the preview and give more thought to your actual capacities and capabilities next time. But if something of this kind should happen, let’s say for medical reasons, do not hesitate and above all, do not wait for the time of the deadline! Let us know immediately about any complications you may have encountered, so that we can resolve the problem as soon as possible without having to put the client at a disadvantage. The sooner you let us know the better!
Q: What to do if I found a huge mistake in the source text e.g. that there is a whole page missing, sentences in the text are incomplete, a part or the whole text doesn’t make sense, the text cannot be read or opened, etc.?
A: Let us know immediately what is wrong, so we can inform the client before the deadline.
